Today, over at #IshambardPlays we are ankle deep in the expired, with #DOOM for #SNES
Truth be told, I actually enjoy this version of DOOM. The music is surprisingly good, and some of the maps are definitely more in keeping with the original PC version.
Sure it lacks certain maps, and the gameplay is a little wonky here and there but I find it somewhat charming and impressive.
Part 1 is the whole of episode 1 and I am hoping in the next couple of days to get Shores of Hell and Inferno uploaded.

Unfinished Final Fight artwork by Akira Yasuda.
It’s the cover art he wanted to have on the #SNES game, and it’s honestly much better than what we ended up with.
Here are the stats for anyone interested. Many of the maps in the green-yellow campaign of #superfamicomwars really reward aggressive play, but it is so easy to get encircled on Moji Island there's no other real option. Just get as far as you can before making contact, then pump out tanks until the enemy quits.
Nearly forgot to do my victory post!
Green's western front completely collapsed after turn 19, and then the only obstacle was to capture enough of green's undefended properties that we would win. They poured all their resources into defending their eastern front, where I kept pushing on to keep their attention while my infantry got into position out west. At the end of the final turn, all they had left were a busted artillery and a supply truck.
Cheers 🍻
Yeah this is basically over. I just need to get my infantry moved into position in the west and we'll have this map by domination, though it wouldn't take much more for a victory by rout.
Turn 16, and I think this is about to turn into a mop-up operation. The green army are completely fumbling the defense of their eastern chokepoint, and we're about to plow through to their base with tanks, infantry and artillery. In the west, they are losing ground as more and more of our armor arrives.
