Getting a feel for a culture through its dance is one of my favourite things.
It’s bittersweet to enjoy this from a culture that’s under siege from those who want to wipe it away

The independent, statutory body tested its cost and energy security conclusions against different scenarios. It found that the total additional cost of a single fossil fuel price spike of 2022 magnitude is likely to be as large as the total net additional cost of meeting the pathway to Net Zero across every year to 2050.
New report says UK was an 'active participant' in Israeli war crimes.
The Gaza Tribunal report concludes that Britain has:
"failed in its fundamental obligation to prevent genocide;
"been complicit in atrocity crimes;
" in some instances even been an active participant in these crimes".
"The Gaza Tribunal took evidence from eyewitnesses, UN rapporteurs, journalists, medics and academics."

Reflect Orbital and SpaceX have filed proposals with the US Federal Communications Commission that threaten ground-based astronomy. We submitted replies and collaborated with the UK Royal Astronomical Society & the International Astronomical Union for their responses. 1/
For clarification:
1. I’m neither a programmer nor an engineer
2. If you’ve ever used the timer on your washing machine, then you’ve done Boolean logic (IF time = 6pm THEN start machine). If you’ve ever cooked a meal then you’ve used Boolean logic (IF chicken > 50% cooked AND Fryer = warmed up THEN put in chips).
You use logic every day, you just don’t call it that. This stuff isn’t beyond ‘average people’ and it bothers me that people think it is
If they were talking about the http bit that would feel proportionate (those 2 tools aren’t designed for most players to use). But they’re talking about the whole thing.
It would seem that there’s a bunch of people out there who think that basic logic is some mystical, elitist code, meant only for programmers, and beyond the ken of most humans.
Concerning.

I popped on the the #Timberborn Steam Community discussions yesterday and there was a baffling (to me) number of people complaining about the new automation tools.
Partly it baffles me because (with the exception of the contamination sensor) you can just completely avoid using them and just play as you did before - so why complain?
But also most of the complaints consist of people complaining that it’s ‘too complicated for anyone who isn’t a programmer or engineer’ and I’m.. like.. whut?

People are doing rocket science and quantum mechanics, and yet no one has invented a knitting needle that displays the current number of stitches it's holding.
Disappointing.
Rights groups have slammed Pete Hegseth for saying that “no quarter” will be shown to Iran.
"No quarter" includes executing people who've surrendered.
The mere announcement from a govt official can be a war crime.
Such threats are illegal under the Hague Convention & US domestic laws & military manuals.
Hegseth has publicly claimed he would not abide by “stupid rules of engagement”
Hegseth is military trained & he's no fool:
