Timing was a bit wonky -- an hour before dinner and by the time we ended (chatting!) I was so hungry. Craved veggie hakka noodles and lollipop chicken. My usual spot was closed (Tuesdays!) so I drove out to Hem's. Num

After an interview, I happened to find myself near Eby Street Bodega. And I happened to get the Brassica Knuckles sandwich for lunch. Num.

Oh, my life. It's so hard.

Went to Guelph and for a great interview Andrew from Tomme (it turns out we worked together(ish) at a former employ!) and then had him choose my birthday cheese (it's in Sept, but I wanted cheese now). Occelli di Castagno

I've been enjoying a lot of #camping videos on #Youtube lately, stuff like gear reviews and peaceful videos of people cooking food in quiet forest environments.

It just really bugs me that the people who make these videos well are middle-aged men whose camping food is stuff like bacon, sausages or salmon cooked on open flame. I realise there is an audience that finds those foods appealing, but watching closeups of flesh sizzling is icky to me, personally.

There are people who make videos about #vegan camping, but the atmosphere and attitude in those videos is completely different! It's all #WhatIAteToday #VanLife, the people are skinny, beatiful, in their 20's and insufferably cheerful and excited about being #outdoors.

I don't want my hiking videos exciting and upbeat, I want them slow and tastefully melancholy!
