Lunch at Pedal Pushers Cafe which was the most crowded I'd ever seen it.
Walked around and found a pink door that led to an arcade with axe throwing, darts, and tabletop Galaga.

Bicycled from Rushford to Lanesboro today. Fallen trees had been removed so a good day, despite a little drizzle and a grey day.
28 bicyclists on the Root River Trail. 8 electric bicycles. 8 were mostly in the Lanesboro area.
Stopped at Tiger Trail Lefse in Peterson & got my favorite cool ranch flavor chips.

Bicycled from Rushford to Whalan and back yesterday. Temperature was great, but good grief there were so many tiny flying bugs. They were green, so not gnats as I've known them, but so many.

Cashier at Aroma Pies in Whalan, Minnesota along the Root River Trail told us this is the last weekend for 2025. Too bad since this week is supposed to be warmer. So glad I've been able to enjoy it this Summer. It was the first place I intentionally bicycled to from Rushford in November 2024 only to learn about "Closed for the Season" applied to more than local bicycle shops.

Noticed the Root River was going almost as fast I was. Wasn't sure if they let up the dam in Lanesboro or there was just that much water from the rains.
Then I saw this sign. Yep, that much water.
Bicycled to Whalan to get my spouse a peach pie. Had apple with cinnamon ice cream for myself. Also got her walnut fudge from Whalan Depot.
About 50 people bicycling. 1 recumbent. 1 kid. About 8 electric bikes.

Welp, that proved me wrong.
I've been wanting to try "Aroma Pies" in Whalan, Minnesota since November. There was no way it could live up to the hype. Wrong.
It was so good.
Most bicyclists I've ever seen on the Root River Trail there.
Leaving Houston, Minnesota yesterday and tent camping opened at 2pm and by 2:30 7 spots were claimed out of 10 already.
Seasonal tourism isn't something I'd ever experienced myself before. Spouse had in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Bicycled the Root River Trail today. Spring is showing up in patches.
Peterson bathrooms--not open.
Whalan Train Depot was open and chatted with the owner for a bit and got a couple of things.
Had lunch at Pedal Pushers Cafe in Lanesboro. Many more stores are open there now. Stopped at a bike shop and got accessories.
1 bunny, 3 squirrels, 1 chipmunk.
22 bicyclists. 6 walkers.

Beautifully warm day so I bicycled 42 Kilometers on the Root River Trail from Rushford to Peterson to Whalan and back in Minnesota.
