Was going to bicycle longer, but restrooms on the Root River Trail aren't open yet and I was having stomach issues. Bicycled to Peterson and back to Rushford again.
25 PedalCyclists on the trail today. Only two electric. Heard one kid say, "Mom! It feels like Summer out here!"

Bicycled on the Root River Trail to Peterson and back from Rushford today. Much warmer. On the way there, one third walking. On the way back, so much ice and snow had melted I was able to bicycle the whole way.

Saturday should have most of the trail to Lanesboro melted.

Bicycled the Root River Trail from Rushford to just past Peterson and back, had lunch, then bicycled toward Houston and turned back at first slushy ice patch covering the whole path and bicycled on Creekside trail. Two and a half hours of bicycling time on an unseasonably warm day.

Felt so good to bicycle 18K yesterday in -7.77C that felt like -11C after a few days of too much cold and days of travel with the spouse.
Someone snowplowed the Root River Trail from the edge of Rushford to the edge of Peterson so I was able to get more distance. Got on the road for a stretch where snow was too deep.

Whalan Depot's last day for the season is tomorrow. Water fountain in the park in Whalan already turned off.
Lunch at Pedal Pushers Cafe which was the most crowded I'd ever seen it.
Walked around and found a pink door that led to an arcade with axe throwing, darts, and tabletop Galaga.

Bicycled from Rushford to Lanesboro today. Fallen trees had been removed so a good day, despite a little drizzle and a grey day.
28 bicyclists on the Root River Trail. 8 electric bicycles. 8 were mostly in the Lanesboro area.
Stopped at Tiger Trail Lefse in Peterson & got my favorite cool ranch flavor chips.

Great weather to bicycle from Rushford to Lanesboro today. Had to stop in Whalan coming back because I left 4 hours later than I thought I did (oops), and the sun was going down faster than I thought. There were way too many bugs so I admitted I was done and called the spouse for a motorcar ride home.

Bicycled to Peterson and back. No adults or kids around, exactly what I wanted before I tried this.
Tried the "Peterson Barefoot Walking Trail".
The wood trunks felt good. The spread out tiny pebbles hurt quite a bit. Got more than halfway.
Then the *pile* of pebbles didn't hurt as much, but, oh good lord, the absorbed heat to which my feet admitted defeat.
Had fun at the Peterson, Minnesota Gammel Dag Parade.
A small one, but with a great Master of Ceremonies, and everyone giving their all.
