Enjoying another early morning bicycle ride

Riding Stroudwater and related trails today on the gravel bike. I have to say I find Portland Trails way finding pretty woeful and the trails very dangerous to bike casually. So much elevation and rootiness, quite risky. New bridge is nice although it just dumps you in a subdivision… #maine #bicycling #gravel

What is the origin of the tradition/style to put flowers on bike handlebars? - feddit.org

I was to a bike rally today (in Germany) for better road infrastructure. A few different people there had put flowers on their bikes, attached to the handlebars. I think it looks quite nice, and thinking about it I have seen it in photos from the Netherlands. And maybe in the 80ies in my hometown Cologne, which is not that far from The Netherlands. Now I am curious… Where does this tradition come from? Did it have a specific cause? Did it appear at a specific point in Dutch history? Just a kind of ornament, or something with deeper meaning? Anybody knows more?

From this morning's bicycle ride

Tons of kids in my neighborhood now have ebikes. I almost feel like we should give a reward to every kid that has stuck with a traditional bicycle. It's way too early for them to give up on the full exercising potential and muscle development #bicycling has to offer.

I bought a 20 inch floor fan. It's loud and powerful. Anyway, I transported it from the hardware store to my apartment using my bicycle and some bungee cords. No need for a car.
