idk maybe other people understand this in some other way but for me when folks use weird colors in a natural scene they are describing a kind of altered state of perception, or how they are affected by the place. Or maybe they are telling the truth about a place that seems different to the normal senses, like when Rowdy Roddy Piper puts the sunglasses on in They Live. Or, the palace on the other side of the fence is in a different, fantasy universe. Or maybe they just like using interesting colors, they got bored with the ones The Universe picked. Anyways I really like this, I experience it, I think it's really good. On their website is a lot of good art, they are productive:

as you can see in the first frame the cross is right side up but in the very next frame the cross is upside down.

I have yet to figure out if these is intentional or not, and if it is than what does it mean.
