In January 1914, the Kibble Palace was targetted by members of Women's Social and Political Union, who had their Scottish headquarters at 141 Bath Street in the city centre, as part of their campaign for the right of women to be able to vote. Two bombs were planted, one of which exploded, shattering a number of panes of glass and injurying a member of staff.

Created by John Kibble, the Kibble Palace was originally built at Coulport on the shores of Loch Long in the 1860s before being taken apart, moved to Glasgow and re-built at its current location in the 1870s.

Love the new public space which has been created at the historic Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow. For me, it has just the right mix of old and new to maintain its links with the past while still giving it a modern feel.
