If you're at a loose end today, the Govan Stones is having a free open day between 11am and 4pm. This includes an achaeological survey of the Govan Old Parish Churchyard which has a number of interesting gravestones, such as ones like this which feature memento mori, or reminders of death.

You've got to love Glasgow: We had a little bit of unexpected snow today, most of which was gone within an hour, but in that brief time, all across the city, countless snowballs were thrown, numerous snowmen appeared and in Kelvingrove Park a few sledges were even sledged!
