De Rebellion startte op 15 september met de “TRAANREDE”, een samenwerking van Extinction Rebellion en Animal Rebellion in Den Haag. Als reactie op de troonrede lieten wij met de traanrede zien dat het huidige klimaatbeleid van onze politiek om te huilen is. We eisen dat de keuzes die de onze toekomst beïnvloeden, worden gemaakt door een burgerraad. Een groep burgers, willekeurig gekozen die geïnformeerd worden door experts. Een burgerraad gaat voorbij de machinaties van de politiek en stelt deskundigheid en de belangen van burgers voorop. Het zorgt ervoor dat burgers de keuzes maken, in plaats van de lobbyisten van grote bedrijven. Profit of big companies is more important than public health. Brabant is the province with the highest density of farmed animals. There are twice as many pigs as people. In some parts of Brabant the air is so polluted that there are more people dying from lungcancer or corona than in any other province. The amount of particulate matter is in some parts 2.5 times higher than is accepted by the WHO. Doctors and scientists have warned about this, but they're being neglected.
