#Transport for #Wales (TfW) is trialling a new #satellite #internet system on its fflecsi bus services in Machynlleth to improve connectivity in rural areas. The system provides high-speed, reliable Wi-Fi and real-time bus updates, even where mobile signals are weak or unavailable. Developed through a partnership between TfW’s Innovation Lab, Dragon WiFi, and Lloyds Coaches, the #technology aims to enhance passenger experience and make public transport more accessible. TfW officials say the trial responds directly to customer feedback about poor connectivity, particularly in remote areas where fflecsi is essential. The trial runs until March 2026, with feedback monitored throughout. A similar trial using OneWeb technology will also launch in Conwy to assess broader potential. The initiative demonstrates Wales’ commitment to innovation in connected transport.
