I just watched the first #TheMatrix again. Despite being IMO the second best #scienceFiction film ever (the best is 2001: A Space Odyssey), it is also one of the most misunderstood films.
Despite being misused by conspiracy Nazi's, it is clear that the Matrix is analogous to our capitalist oppressive society. Something the Wachowski's later admitted. But the greatest hint towards this explanation was of course the use of a Rage Against the Machine song during the end credits (Wake Up).
So before a so called red-pilled white dude claims it's all a big conspiracy, it's a leftist anti-capitalist, probably even an anarchist inspired film! Don't let the Nazis steal our culture!
