Caught the Wachowski’s first film, “Bound”, on 35mm last night at the Somerville Theatre presented by IFFBoston.org as part of their “Hot Summer Nights” series . Excellent introduction by Alex Kittle @[email protected] who also drew this cool postcard and you should be following here and at their Letterboxd account

@SteveKLord Stuff like this is why I lament that I wasn't a movie nerd back when I lived in Boston. I can only get down there on occasion now.
Yeah I've lived here most of my life and I really should be grateful as a cinephile for the film culture here that can pretty much always guarantee there's something good playing somewhere. Outside of NYC or LA that's pretty rare.

@SteveKLord Yeah, the trifecta of the Coolidge, the Brattle, and Somerville Theater is truly special.

And that's without even considering Kendall Square Theater, which I've never visited.

That really sums it up perfectly. I'm closer to the Somerville now but used to live within walking distance of the Coolidge which was just renovated. The Brattle is historically connected to Janus films which is super important in bringing foreign films to the US. The Kendall shows lots of current films from studios like Neon and now in a similar vein there's an Alamo Drafthouse in the Seaport if that's your thing.
