pmcnallyI got a first place medal at the powerlifting meet I was in recently. It was first place for men over 50. I was the only man over 50 competing. I was the oldest guy there by 25-30 years. So, even though I didn’t technically outlift anybody, I like to think that it was a victory of sorts just to be there at my age. I also improved my competition PRs in all three events. I’ll take it. It was fun. It’s a great sport. #powerlifting #usapowerlifting

Today felt great at about 92% (315lb, 143 kg) of my banded squat 1RM! I could have gotten 3 more.
Pulled 410 lbs with maximum effort Sunday, after a week of tapering for the test day, even though my PR is 445 lbs. Today I pulled 3 singles of 400 lbs and it felt medium, even though I have some fatigue built up. Who knows what’s going to happen at my meet.

Coach giving me double squat sessions is going to kill me!
21 days out from my #USAPowerlifting meet and I’m a bit disappointed. I was only able to get 94% (365# - 165 kg) on squats.

Mufasa#USAPowerlifting lost a two-year court battle this week after a judge ruled that it had discriminated against #transgender athlete #JayCeeCooper by banning her from competing in women's competitions.
The ruling also mandated that the sports organization "cease and desist from all unfair discriminatory practices" because of #SexualOrientation and #GenderIdentity and that it revise its policy related to sexual orientation and gender identity within two weeks.
