Well, shit! My body decided to corporate with deadlifts today!

Pulled 385 with hookgrip, 405 double with straps. I'm very pleased with that considering I haven't done a heavy deadlift in I don't even know how long.

Biggest issue by far is grip. I used to have no issue double overhanding 315x5, I could barely hold onto it for a double. Legs/back feel great, but my forearms be weak af now.

Last couple weeks have been weird and a bit busy, but gym breaks have been good. On Friday, my coach and I were trying to identify a 7RPE (relative perceived effort) deadlift for me. It matched my previous max effort of 264lbs (120kg). I asked if I could have a new personal record, as a treat. She put on 16 more pounds for 280 (127kg).

I made a compilation + the 219 (~100kg) regular deadlifts I was doing after. All set to "Yeah" because we were doing mid-00s hip hop that night. #powerlifting

Goddamn, why is it SO hard to get back into routine?? I'm doing Conjugate when I'm actually getting a workout in as it lets me do it with minimal prep.

At the very least I'm still doing my pull-ups every day, and I do my pull-ups and dips when its not raining and I can get the dog out for his long walk.

I think I need to buy a hex bar ๐Ÿ˜ก I haven't done deads in months and was really feeling the need in my upper back. I did some straight leg deads and it felt so damn good in my body, but I was still sac-tapping myself at the top of every rep.

I really don't want to add yet another bar in the garage, but I'm not sure how else to get my deads in and not be hitting myself directly in the bits.

Still stumped as to why this started happening in the first place. I went a decade with no issues.
