What if I accidentally double the input voltage for a 160VA toroidal transformer being used to charge a battery via a bridge rectifier? Dual primaries can be wired parallel for 115V input, or series for 230V.

(it's only a backup for when the more sophisticated charger isn't available, and I'm the only user.)

I mean obviously it's going to overload and get very hot very quickly, but is there a rule of thumb for the effects of saturation? Fry in seconds? :-)

I've been hoping to see these toroidal propellers on PC fans! I can't wait to try this for myself.
