the kplr - thing also surprised me. that is a logistics company who sells this data. they cannot afford just saying any random old shit they pulled out of thin air.

one might think with digital-#GPS-everything the #tolling process won't cut the ships going through like IN HALF...

All of #America's #taxpayers will chip in for a #freeway widening in #Oregon—more than half a billion dollars worth—so that local #drivers won't have to pay a toll to buy the extra lanes they'll use. The project pricetag has climbed to $6 billion (with a B).

"Oregon #Democratic Sen. #RonWyden said in a statement Friday that he wanted to see more federal dollars for the project to avoid #tolling, calling the $600 million grant a 'down payment.'”

Report: MLFF hits a snag as highway firms oppose 'monopoly'

It looks like MLFF has hit a speed bump as highway concessionaires oppose the govt's direct award of an allegedly inexperience monopoly to take over tolling.

I got notice of this from GoGet (I’m a member), along with the intel that car-sharing schemes don’t benefit from toll relief or registration discounts. A friend gave me the heads up last week about toll relief, and great that we have that in our extremely over-tolled city. But we need to preference alternatives to private vehicle ownership and driving - freedom from tolls would be a tiny but significant incentive.
