I don't mind splashing out if it gets me a better feed than I could make at home. I don't usually namedrop businesses here, but there's a place called Hayes Common (by Wellington St beach, just north of Hamilton Gardens) that does an excellent vegan cooked breakfast that's well worth the $30 they charge. There is even more than one vegan breakfast option on the menu!

What, undoubtedly, started as a joke has become reality. Hamilton was ironically dubbed “City of the Future” in the late 1990s, also earning the nickname of “The ‘Tron”, short for “Hamiltron”. But these monikers, intended with irony, have come true in so many ways. Some of it is due to geography, but a lot of it is due to capability. The relative geographical stability of the Waikato region, compared to more earthquake prone regions such as the Wellington and Canterbury regions, makes it the ideal place to establish a data centre. It’s a no brainer of a decision for hosting companies following the construction of the city’s high-speed broadband network built by Ultrafast Fibre over the last five years.

My wife, Sam, was hit in a similar manner by a firefighter turning into a fire station in Hamilton (fortunately, not in the fire truck but a ute!). Similar "excuse-isms" were used, including the suggestion that her hi-vis vest actually decreased the visibility.

Someone's finally got the memo about saving cinemas by playing classics as well as new releases. Lido in The Tron has a whole slate of them scheduled;
