It took two weeks, but I finally got over the heartbreak of losing my initial #BookReview, and found the time between frantic translating, to write a long form review of #TheEmergency. The book info is far more lacking because I have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to plot details, but I think it's better going into this if less when you can.
Don't pick this one up if you aren't in a good headspace for it though. It's hard and it deals with discrimination and all the nasty bits that come with empire and its collapse. Make sure you can emotionally tolerate the anxiety and upsetting themes.
@lproven the resurgent evil in the East is still interesting in LOTR, but I'm getting Verner Vinge universe flashes at present.
