As an academic, a student and a co-worker in the health care sector, I am living in the reality. A reality where people over 85 yo is expected to increase by about 60 % over a 10-year period while the sector is struggling to hire 65 600 to solve the demographic mismatch, according to Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR).

And now the Swedish government is throwing immigrants out while totally ignoring the fact that 53 % nursing assistants and 37 % assistant nurses are of immigrant background (SKR).

The Swedish government's stupidity stretches beyond Swedish borders as well.

Luckily, the Swedish general election will be held on 13 September 2026. It will be a pleasure to vote for a change based on humanity and common sense.
