Casually reading a Wikipedia page about a film...

> In 2025, it was one of the films voted for the "Readers' Choice" edition of The New York Times' list of "The 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century", finishing at number 314.

Wait... it got 314... on the 100 best? I... did they... what?

A post stretch report on a not-so-good day

Original post:

This is my post-stretch report on a not-so-good day. I woke up extremely stiff and in pain. Time to do those stretches I learned about in Bath.

Here’s my #WorkOut report.

Shoulder rolls

  • Rolling shoulders forward, up, and back.

Some relief for my neck and shoulders.

Neck flex and extend

  • Moving head over to the side. Then the other.
  • Head forward, then back.
  • Twisting neck by looking left and then right.

More head and neck stiffness relief. Slightly less head pain.

Seated flexes and twists

  • Twisting body clockwise and then counterclockwise while seated.
  • Hip flex by side leaning.

Some back tension relief. Starting to feel human again.

Chest and shoulder

This one is harder to explain. hands out face up with elbows at a right angle. Move hands in a circular motion outwards. This opens up the chest and flexes the shoulders taking tension from the neck as it does so.

Overall

I feel somewhat better. Head hurts less. Back and shoulders feel freer as the stiffness is lower.

I should really do this more often.

5 minutes is my max… For now.

Original post:

I try to have a stretch and do a very light workout while my tea is brewing. The longest I can currently manage is an Assam, which brews for five minutes.

I’m feeling spent, but I also have a bit of a post-workout high. So I also feel pumped, even if I probably can’t move for a while now.

3KG in each hand gets heavy on the arms pretty fast, and I can’t do many stretches without stopping; but I can do some, and that’s my road to physical freedom.

I have three intersecting conditions to work past, but I refuse to give up. Even if this tiger needs a nap now.

Reblog: I had two weeks of AxSpA physio on the NHS

This post was first published on my social node.

I arrived home from two weeks of AxSpA physio last night. The course is run by the NHS. Which means, for those without universal health care, it was free at the point of use. (We pay NI as a mild tax (if you earn enough) that funds the NHS.)

The program was fantastic. It improved all of my AxSpA symptoms and gave me the stretching, exercise, and knowledge tools to keep improving them.

The head of the program is Professor Raj Sengupta, a well-regarded and leading expert in the field. Our physio for many of our sessions was Dr Ben Davies. Ben is an absolute legend – he taught me a lot.

Without the NHS, this powerful program and these fine teachers would have been forever out of my reach. I am eternally grateful for teams running and supporting the program, the program itself, and the NHS which enabled me to partake in this life-changing fortnight.

Physio note: I started my day off with some shoulder and spinal stretches.
