Canal & River Trust mass-emailed yesterday: This week, lock usage in the Midlands is restricted; from next week they're shut down indefinitely, due to water shortage.

So, I've travelled to the boat, to move it north. My destination is 25 boating hours and 27 locks away. The time it'll take me to pass through those locks is unpredictable because I'm going it alone. For now, most locks are only available from 10:00 to 13:45.

When did #referees stop adding to #stoppage time for stoppages that happen in stoppage time?

Suddenly lately it seems like they're whistling exactly at original announced stoppage regardless of what else happens in the meantime.

I'm really trying to understand this #soccer game between #USA & Iran. I've watched soccer off and on since my boys were little and played it. I'll never understand the #penalties. Most of all, why do they add #stoppage time. Why not just stop the clock during injuries? I guess they like long games.
