Building rituals as a writer

I am an easily distracted squirrel. I am also a storyteller. If I want my stories to go out into the world, I need a way to focus my squirrel nature on my writing.

For this, I think I need to establish some rituals for dreaming and writing. I’ve no idea how or what will work. No ideas at all.

Please offer your ideas – all ideas are good at this stage.

I don't remember where I read this, but it makes me chuckle on days like today where I'm stuck doing very simple tasks that are yet too complex for my liking because of my #SpicyBrain:

Someone was sharing an anecdote of a time where their cat was being very fussy/bossy and making a big scene, and the person's partner just looked at the cat and said,

"You and your eight nipples are shit."

I don't know why my brain brought that up today, probably because I'm dealing with very simple things with far too many moving parts, and I'd rather be shell scripting or doing something around actual humans, rather than sitting behind a desk.

Question for my spicy-brain folks out here…

I’ve been criticized for being overly open, trusting, and vulnerable. Like, it’s a character flaw.

But part of my ADHD diagnosis is that I feel alone most of the time. Even when I’m with people. And the irony is that I want to be alone. Even though it makes me sad to not be with people.

Imagine how complicated that is. And it’s part of what makes me an open book.

Anyone else experience this?
