I missed the lead up to this series (and should have had a faster shutter speed), so I am not sure if this is an unsuccessful attempt by a short eared owl to steal a meal from a northern harrier, or a successful attempt by a northern harrier to steal a meal from a short eared owl.

The falling grasses lead me to believe the harrier has stolen the meal, but it is not definitive.
