CarolynI took the long-eared owl shot in the previous post early in the morning while entering the Leslie Spit, being quick enough to not draw attention to it, people being what they are. On the way out, many, many hours later, the owl was still there, now with a hoard of people surrounding it. Above the fray, unnoticed by anyone by me, a short-eared owl was making a flyby.

MovingTrainMediaI missed the lead up to this series (and should have had a faster shutter speed), so I am not sure if this is an unsuccessful attempt by a short eared owl to steal a meal from a northern harrier, or a successful attempt by a northern harrier to steal a meal from a short eared owl.
The falling grasses lead me to believe the harrier has stolen the meal, but it is not definitive.
