#introduction work on progressive local economic development and #communitywealthbuidling.  I live in #Ceredigion in rural West Wales. Learning #cymraeg #SaySomethingInWelsh. Have a #nodig #vegetable garden #CharlesDowding method. Interests include #nature #biodiversity #cooperation #growing #walking #hiking. Terrified by the #climate and nature emergencies. Trying and failing to free myself from global capital and corporations, to live more kindly and more in balance with nature
@soundhobo Bleak here looking out but at least we’re generating electricity from the wind. Spent couple of hours this morning raking up leaves and generally pottering about whilst listening to #SaySomethingInWelsh Encountered a wren and a blackbird. No interest being shown in newly filled bird feeders ATM!

@siaronj @GenevieveDewey You do a really great job! As does SSIW - it's such a welcoming community 😁 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

@llamasoft_ox Have you tried #SaySomethinginWelsh ? You can go through it at your own pace - no pressure! There's also a very friendly forum for help, support and encouragement. And there's absolutely no age limit to #DysguCymraeg !
PS - don't be going after total fluency - it's like chasing the end of a rainbow, you'll ALWAYS feel you're not there yet when in fact once you can speak and be understood (even if there are still words you don't know), you ARE a Welsh speaker.

@5357311 @Ohmissusgee @cris Agree!
I completed the #Duolingo Welsh course some time ago and now just use it for daily practice (I agree about the voice files - especially the shouty one!).

But #SaySomethingInWelsh was my main course - really excellent IMHO, and such a welcoming, active community. However, it doesn't focus on reading and writing, so for that Stuart's advice is spot on.

Online courses from #DysguCymraeg have been stellar too.

By rights I should now be fluent. 🤔 Hmm...😉

@BobbySeal #Duolingo is great. Gets you going with the basics (although there is a weird obsession with parsnips & harps!). I’m still doing it daily after 800 days - gets a bit addictive 😬

I would also try #SaySomethingInWelsh app to get you speaking the language in a more natural way. I also listen to #RadioCymru now and again, and try if you can to converse with other #Welsh speakers 👍🏻

Pob lwc!

Today’s recommendation is this #SaySomethingInWelsh webpage with 4 lessons to help you learn the #Welsh national anthem https://www.saysomethingin.com/en/welsh-national-anthem-course/ to help get you ready for the next international game. I’m looking forward to watching Wales play Argentina later. #CymruAmByth

Accidentally signed up for #SaySomethingInWelsh again. This time via a #GwaithCymraeg information session on #Duolingo and #SSIW
Pleasantly surprised its free for a year, maybe two if the funding is extended.
If you get the chance to #LearnWelsh through your workplace I wholeheartedly recommend it. It provides support, motivation and reduces your making excuses.
