Rockhounding was one of the big draws for me. On this short trip, we collected:

- Thundereggs
- Petrified wood
- Black bog petrified wood
- Teal picture jasper
- Leaf fossils
- Agate nodules

My kid even discovered a small cave filled with sparkly citrene geodes!

I got lots of results searching Mastodon for Rockhounding, Geology, Lapidary, RockTumbling, Gemology, Crystallography, etc.

No rock clubs meeting online, yet, though.

Different search results with and without intercaps, e.g., rockhounding, and RockHounding. (Why? :shrug:)

I got to enjoy a #RockHounding day with my lovely & brilliant partner (@333mcggg on X) recently, at the tiny community of #GemHill. We were out there looking mostly for #CommonOpal, but saw plenty of nice #jasper & #agate, as well. I know it isn't a history post, but you'll live!

My husband often asks: what do you plan to do with all these rocks you pick and tumble? This!
