Cool story, Chinook salmon negotiate many obstacles to swim higher into their natal headwaters than some believed. Does not surprise me, I've seen steelhead, for example, above waterfalls I thought no fish could possibly ascend. One reason I'm fascinated by salmon and steelhead.
