I spent Friday and Saturday immersed in parkrun. Yesterday was Germany's national holiday, and around thirty parkruns in Germany chose to organise a special parkrun for the occasion. This happens every year, but it's not compulsory; each parkrun decides for itself. And so, every year on 3 October, hordes of British tourists descend on Germany to take part in two parkruns a few days apart. As 3 October fell on a Friday this year, we organised two parkruns back-to-back. (1/x)
Great parkrun yesterday at Riemer Park in Munich. And I'm not just saying that because I was the Run Director :D We celebrated both the 7th anniversary of parkrun in Germany and St. Nicholas Day.

5 visitors from the UK, Australia and Germany,
5 new parkrunners,
5 new PB,
1 milestone (100th running).
Another great #parkrun at #Riemer Park today in #Munich. Our 187th.
It was perfect running weather: +2°C and clear blue skies. 55 runners and walkers (less than the last 3 weeks when we had over 80 participants).
Visitors from the UK (including Scotland), Poland and Germany (Göttingen).
#riemer #parkrun is cancelled. Over 30cm of fresh snow on the ground. For some of us it's complicated to reach the park :)
You'll hear it here first: today we broke our attendance record at #riemer #parkrun in #munich : we got 85 participants !!! This is probably the #oktoberfest effect :)

Terschelling, Ameland, Vlieland en Schiermonnikoog gaan samen op zoek naar spullen en het lichaam van de vermiste twaalfjarige Riemer. Hij is de laatst overgebleven vermiste na een fataal bootongeluk in oktober bij Terschelling. Reden voor de zoekactie is een verzoek van zijn school, die iets tastbaars wil hebben om afscheid te nemen van de jongen.
