Hand rehab entered the Contraption Phase on Thursday. I’m using a brace from Joint Active Systems for 30 minutes, 3 times daily, to force my wrist into flexion. The goal is another 10 degrees.

I essentially developed scar tissue underneath the skin due to the prolonged swelling in the top of my hand. The hand doc said we need to stretch it again, “and by ‘stretch’ I mean ‘tear’!”

First day was tricky. The excellent service rep got on a Zoom to help troubleshoot and it’s better. Getting some sliding with the arm piece so they’re sending some special foam, “NASA Foam”, that should improve it more.

I’m really grateful I’m allowed to use the Elasto-Gel glove after a session as long as I wrap my fingers. One of the many doctors I’ve seen on this journey figured out my occasional numbness is #ReynaudsSyndrome, not nerve damage, and the cold makes my fingers go white! #HandRehab #HandTherapy #JAS #JointActiveSystemsBrace #BrokenWrist #LigamentInjuries

@Moonbeam I’m also in the #EDS camp with #reynaudssyndrome and #Erythromelalgia.

Does everyone know about Reynaud's syndrome?

It is poor circulation in fingertips and toes, extremities.

For me it's in my fingertips.
They turn white, cold and numb.

Many people who have Ehlers Danlos, EDS, also experience this.

Look it up if you get white, icy fingertips that take a long time to warm up.

Very important to WEAR GLOVES when it's chilly.

Extended loss of circulation can lead to permanent damage.

One of the unexpected hassles of #POTS / #reynaudssyndrome is that every winter, all of your capacitive touchscreens become infuriating to use.

It's been two weeks that I've been off #adderall for #adhd because it was drastically exacerbating my #reynaudssyndrome (which I just happened to develop after COVID) and I'm TIRED. Like, deep bone tired. My brain is absolute mush and I feel like I can barely sludge through my work day.

I have the attention span of a goldfish and -- oh hey!

Any tips for going stim-free while managing ye olde 9-5 remote work life?

I want to sleep but I'm supposed to stay here with my legs elevated for a while 😔 this #edema is unreal, I literally can barely stuff my feeties in my off-brand Crocs
