Yesterday I went swimming (and to the sauna of course) with my best friend, and then I had a seminar with our second semester students at Uni. So when I got home I was totally washed up. I managed to make these however: a new tea-stocking, as we call it in Swedish, and a new filter for the coffee pot from linen and cotton scraps.
Today I 'm hurting a lot, and my eyes are acting up from a combination of hazel pollen and the smog currently over Gothenburg. So this far I have only managed to have breakfast, make the bed, and drink tea.

More work. Preparing my opposition on a dissertation about homespun fabric in medieval Iceland.
I am at most fit to work two hours a day, today I did five, which was extremely unwise. But I did get stuff done. Tomorrow I'm teaching; a thematic course about various perspectives in the historical study of clothing and fashion for our second semester students.
But tonight I have spent five hours on my back on the sofa, watching "Bones".

Healtwise I am in a bad period now. My sinusitis that has been a constant presence since October is worse, and on top of the constant pain that is my everyday existence, my ankle that I sprained on Tuesday, walking down a stair is hurting and stops me from distracting myself by moving around.
I am alternating between lying down reading a new book about a modern revival of Minoan Paganism and knitting. It's going to become a fair isle slipover.

Woke up from pain after five hours and couldn't go back to sleep because of said pain. I had plans for today. Now there will be "Bones" on tv and elevated foot. Though the main pain was of course not from the ankle, but from my rib cage, jae, and sinuses.
Some joy in the misery is that I got a package yesterday with this snake bracelet, and this book by Laura Perry ,https://pagan.plus/users/TheTempleMom which I wouldn't have known about without pixelfed.

I wasn’t able to exercise much during the continuous rain storms and now my body is unhappy. The cold and lack of movement has given me a bit of stiffness and fatigue. I’ve been very spoiled on my biologic as I didn’t feel hardly anything. Pout cry waaa. #psoriaticarthritis

I did just walk for almost an hour so yay me.

Slept really badly tonight. I think I didn't get a full six hours. So my brain isn't in shape to read and judge whether a PhD thesis is ready for Viva, which was my original plan.
But I have been to the gym for the first time since maybe April, I have defrosted the freezer, and I have read a little in a book about 18th and 19th century calico printing in Sweden. And I have a very beautiful amaryllis.

This year's last pool physio.
It is very good for us arthritic people.

Do you program with #psoriaticarthritis or really any other form of #arthritis like #rheumatoidarthritis?

If so, I'd love to hear any pro tips! I'm going to be trying out some dictation software, but obviously it's not just dictating prose so I imagine there may be some specific things folks do for themselves.

Having a quiet evening watching the new D.I. Lynley series.
One thing that is really hard with a chronic illness and chronic pain: you never know when you are ill enough to stay home from work. So you work when people who don't have chronic pain would have called in sick.
Because otherwise I could NEVER work.
I did work ny 1,5 hours today, and then I visited a charity shop. But now I am too tired and in pain to read the papers that I need to read before a meeting tomorrow.
Well, the meeting is at ten, and I wake up around eight, so it will work out. With some tramadol.
Andnöd, smiling for the camera doesn't mean that I am well, or happy, it just means that I want to look pretty.
And, as photo nr 2 shows: it IS beautiful outside.
