I went to my first rink skate in the 80s: Beat it, Celebrate, Joanna, Holiday, Say Say Say, Love Is A Battlefield, etc.
After a decades-long break I briefly joined a roller derby team, and then 10 years after that I'm back to rink skating whenever I can. ♥

Plenty of folks out today and I love the #flow of weaving (safely but smoothly) through the clusters of skaters as unabashedly upbeat music plays. Controlled chaos with sufficiently absorbing traffic variations to navigate. It quiets the other work-related parts of my mind, leaving pleasant focus and happiness. #quadskating
Silentia7My kids used to do artistic roller skating as a sport (aka roller figure skating). I ended up taking photos at comps. This is one of my photos but not my kid’s feet. My son went on to try roller derby (yes there are men’s teams) but now does Gaelic football for fun #rollerskating #quadskating
