CLondoner92 (New Account)An eight-week public #consultation has been launched across #York and North #Yorkshire to gather views on plans for a #greener, more resilient #economy. Feedback from residents, businesses and organisations will shape the region’s #Strategy for a Sustainable Future, aimed at making it England’s first carbon-negative area by 2040. The draft plan focuses on cutting emissions, improving energy efficiency, supporting greener transport and promoting a circular economy. Leaders say the strategy also seeks to lower energy bills, improve air and water quality, and deliver warmer, more affordable homes. Developed with local authorities, national parks and stakeholders, the plan highlights protecting landscapes and boosting economic growth alongside environmental goals. The consultation runs until 10 June 2026.
