Six-plus years after I bought them, my #Rollerblade ER Pro 3×125 skates have finally reached in 20,000 km of rolling.
It took much longer than it should to reach that bemchmark, but I have primarily rolled on a pair of Revv BOA 3×110 skates the past two years, and that pair passed 16,000 km a few days ago. There was also the burnout year of 2022 when I barely rolled on anything at all.

This edit inspired me to practice toe rolls and improve my toe balance in general, which, because of the body tension required, turned out to be quite the workout.

An extra fun group skate on the Empire #InlineSkating calendar for Saturday 6/6 evening. But… assuming weather permits!
Plan is to depart from Central Park about 6 pm and skate to Coney Island, and there hang out at a bonfire!
Check the Empire website calendar for meet-up details, incl how to RSVP, because the event leader needs to know!
(Assuming no weather problems, it's up to you how to return home after the event.)
Some nights I'm not sure if the biggest problem #InlineSkating the #CentralPark loop is the number of electric #Citibike riders going the wrong way with their damn headlights in your face, or the raccoons wearing no illumination at all.
It's June and if you're #InlineSkating on the #CentralPark loop in the evening, that means watching out for performance crowds crossing the road. We encountered it Tuesday evening with pedestrians lining up to get into the Delacorte Theater. Ooph, glad we were not passing by a couple hours later when those some people would have been heading the other way well after sunset under the poor lighting.
And speaking of performance crowds, there's a concert on the Great Lawn next Wed, June 10.
Closed out May with a roll to #RedHook #Brooklyn. Not expecting to see much except for the Statue of Liberty, as cruise ships are sailing their summer schedules. But turns out there were catamaran races happening on the bay.
Skated so many miles the past two months that I have finally made up the miles that I did not roll in Jan and Feb, and am now on pace to meet my goal for the year.
Empire has a fun #GroupSkate planned for Sunday, May 31. We will be rolling the Bronx River Parkway during the hours when it is closed to traffic. Meet up is at the Westchester County Center in White Plains at 11 a.m., close to the Metro North station. We'll roll the parkway until about 1:30. Afterwards, some will do an extra skate up to the Kensico Dam and back. Details on the Empire calendar at
