Looking back, I feel like the #StarWars prequel trilogy was an enormous cautionary tale leading us to exactly the point in history we're at now:
An old and powerful institution (The Jedi/The Democrats) allowed an evil dictator (Palpatine/Trump) to rise to power through clever machinations by their own staggering incompetence and myopia.
Because of this, centuries of stable tradition will be torn asunder and replaced with a fascistic empire of exploitation and denigration, all to thundering applause.
