In my romance drama, The Fifth Seduction. Jimmy Valley is the foil, or the comic relief character, who is excruciatingly annoying to the two female leads, Julia and Mable. He is the TV host on the successful series they created and is popular with the public, so they can never be rid of him, but behind the scenes, he makes their skin crawl. Later in the book, we learn that Jimmy got his start in "show business" because his father hosted a kids' show in England. As Mable narrates: "That explained even more about Jimmy: A puppeteer in a dog costume raised him."
