Finally did a bit more work on this coat, my interlining is sorted, my interfacing is handsewn in, and I only mildly regret picking a vintage #pierrecardin for #vogue pattern from the sixties.
Next I need to decide whether to commit to bound buttonholes or not. Pros: they're pretty and that's what the pattern asks for
Cons: I have tried them exactly once quite a while ago and remember nothing.
Also don't have buttons big enough so I'm toying with covering some ugly plastic ones in wool, although apparently you're only supposed to use shank buttons. There's enough fabric at the back to sew them on to the coat eventually...I can't tell if this is feasible or one of my less brilliant plans.
