This is Harper's Ferry, West Virginia in 2015. A few months before this picture was taken, a fire raged through its historic commercial section gutting the building here and another adjacent. This view is the back of the buildings. I don't know the two people in the lower left of the image, one is apparently a monk or nun, but I am happy they are there. (And I'm happy you're here, too.)

Dear friends, This American Robin leaves a dense thicket of #Wineberries (Rubus phoenicolasius), invasive here on Long Island.
The neighborhood #SongBirds love them. But they spread the seeds. These berries are delicate.This #Robin has a tender touch!
I will remove after harvesting. I tried cutting them back to weaken them. It will have to be the mattock!

The best carbon capture and storage system are healthy #ecosystems. I don't know if the photo here of this Youhiogheny River section pictures is, in fact, a healthy ecosystem, but it is a lovely view and there is lots of carbon loveliness in those trees and in the forest floor. Here is a photo of a wetlands reconstruction in #Truckee #California. In the distance is a ski area. It also has a multi-use path used for foot, pedaled, and wheeled users. A lovely place for a meditative stroll, run, or bike ride.

#FensterFreitag. This #house, at least the main part on the right, is over 300 years old. It's a rare "overhanging salt box" style. The house is owned by the local township, is nationally registered as an historic site, yet remains in disrepair. I'll speak up about it having just noticed what poor condition it is in.
