July 19, 1983: After about three miles, the trail finally leveled out along the crest of the mountain and the rocks thinned out considerably. It was not bad hiking at all, and I began to make up in large chunks the time I had lost on the ascent.

Lucia is an exciting progressive candidate running in a democratic primaries in PA US Congressional District 1. Local established Democrat are trying to silence her. It is infuriating that local democratic establishment still continues to cling to the status quo, endorsing her opponent who has lots of corporate money.

Lucia for Congress on Instagram: "Do you feel crossed out by the two parties? We get it. ✊ That’s a major reason why we started this campaign, why we’re doing it differently, and why folks across the district are getting on board. 🔗 #Pennsylvania is a “Closed Primary” State, so make sure you’re registered as a #Democrat: Vote.pa.gov/Register (you can always change back after the Primary)! 🗳️ Vote for the only candidate fighting for universal healthcare as a right, to take on #BigTech and #WallStreet, to end endless wars, and to #AbolishICE! 📢 We need your help. We’re challenging the partisan establishment, big donors, and corporate interests. If you can volunteer any time, or donate what you can afford, it helps give us a fighting chance. Please see links in the bio! *BCDC has updated their sample ballots with the strike removed, after receiving significant criticism online."

Communities Not Cages: National Day of Action to Stop ICE Warehouse Detention · Mobilize

Join us outside as part of a nationwide day of action to oppose the Trump administration's expansion of ICE warehouse detention and its attack on the due process rights of immigrants and all Americans. The Department of Homeland Security is moving to lock thousands of people in massive detention warehouses — disappearing them from their families, their lawyers, and their communities. We're taking to the streets to make clear that stands for dignity, justice, and the rule of law. We'll gather to: - Show visible, public opposition to ICE detention expansion and the criminalization of immigration - Stand in solidarity with detained immigrants and the communities fighting to protect them - Demand that our elected officials defend due process for everyone Bring a sign. Bring your neighbors. Bring your voice. This action is part of the Communities Not Cages National Day of Action organized by the Disappeared In America campaign and partners including Detention Watch Network, Indivisible, Public Citizen, The Workers Circle, MoveOn and many others. A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Communities Not Cages: National Day of Action to Stop ICE Warehouse Detention · Mobilize

Join us on Saturday April 25 for a Town Hall hosted by BOW, the BURN Organizing Workgroup. We're fighting to get ICE out of Berks entirely -- no warehouse prison camps, and no voluntary collaboration with ICE. Did you know the county has been quietly moving immigrants from our jail into ICE custody for decades? 75 people disappeared in just the past year. We want Berks to be a safe, welcoming community, not a pipeline to ICE. We're showing up to stand for dignity, justice, and the rule of law for everyone, not just those blessed with American citizenship. This event, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Reading, is part of a nationwide day of action to oppose the Trump administration's expansion of ICE warehouse detention and its attack on the due process rights of immigrants and all Americans. Come to learn what's going on in Berks right now -- and what might happen if the warehouse goes through. We'll have special guest speakers, lots of information, and clear guidance on what we can do together to build a Berks County that works for all of us. This action is part of the Communities Not Cages National Day of Action organized by the Disappeared In America campaign and partners including Detention Watch Network, Public Citizen, The Workers Circle, MoveOn and many others.
