So I wrote a small blog post about my #pinebook pro setup. If you think about buying one it might be worth to read it. Its a bit of an rant but yeah. It took me quite some time to have it up and running.

Actually whole blog post was written and uploaded from it so it really seems fo work good enough.

My first ARM64 laptop for 60 euros - how I spent 2 weeks on simple linux setup

It took me 6 hours to figure out that my #pinebook has a problem with nvme. Without back lid it was working fine. Whenever I put tiny pressure like rest my hand on touchpad, whole hardware was restarting. I need to read about it on their forums.

Ehhh I bought myself second hand #pinebook pro and it's not turning on. I think the previous owned did not charge it for very long time and now maybe the batery is dead... Idk. I tried to charge it with USB C cable as he also didn't attach the 5V charger...

I read docs but people come up with some crazy fixes...
Anyone had similar issues? I see that when I plug the C cable the red led is glowing but when I press start button screen continues to be turned off. #pine64

@samhenrigold love this feeling. I'm having it myself with a $200 secondhand #Pinebook Pro that I got to see what I could do with my intermediate Linux knowledge on a bare bones #ARM machine.

I've been running a tiling window manager, managing all of my homelab servers over SSH, using #GnuIMP just like I did on laptops from ~15 years ago to make wallpapers for my jailbroken #kindle

Not every machine needs to be able to do everything. Especially now with prices on the rise.

#PineBookPro was my primary computer for probably two years. It was good enough for most things, and running off of #Solar was pretty nice to mostly draw under 10 watts. Still use it a few times a week for various things.

The barrel jack power supply is broken, but usb-c power still works, and there's a crack on the plastic frame near the hinge, or I would probably use it more...

I had previously also used the original #PineBook regularly for a couple years, so was a huge upgrade!

If only my #pinebook charged at night instead of draining the battery I could watch the stream live. Are there any powersockets somewhere at #ULB?

And, unrelated: Is @pine64 here?

#fosdem

does anybody know how to fix the sound on a #pinebook pro when it wakes? it seems like the audio goes fast motion and is all types of broken when waking from suspend.

I know I'm a #LaptopAddict, guys...

But I'm actually thinking about buying a super-cheap HP Stream 11 when they go on sale in a month or two to have an always-on-the-go cheap-and-light laptop with me at all times to use my phone a lot less. XD

Basically, it's a modern #NetBook. :D

(And it's actually a bit lighter than the #PinebookPro, though not the original #Pinebook, which is no longer for sale)

Any other recommendations for a cheap, stupidly-light, touch-typeable laptop?

Where do I find this “#PINEBOOK Pro M.2/NGFF NVMe SSD Interface Adapter”? Since #pine64 is always out of stock..
