In my mind, the most disturbing recent oral argument is actually Percoco v. United States, because it shows just how comfortable some of the justices - Alito, Thomas, and Comey Barrett, in particular - are with bribery. #SupremeCourt #OralArgument

Today kicks off what will be a regular series of short civil appellate practice tips offered for fun and conversation, mostly aimed at the newer #lawyer and #lawstudent crowd, as well as practice-oriented #lawprofs. Many will concern #legalwriting or #oralargument. Some will be more general thoughts on #law practice.

Listened to oral argument in Cruz v. Arizona today. Joseph Kanefield’s (AZ AG’s office) performance is the worst oral argument I’ve ever heard. Worse than Ruen v. U.S. Worse than Goldsmith’s attorney in Warhol v. Goldsmith. Worse than Deanne F. Jones arguing the wrong issue in Illinois v. McArthur. #supremecourt #AppellateMastodon #oralargument
