The house was pulled down in the early 1900s, and the land was converted into a public park, but for some reason, this wall was retained, and is still standing to this day.

When you start looking, you'll find Glasgow is criss-crossed by ghost walls, like this one which runs through the middle of Cross Park in Thornwood. Ghost walls are ones that are all that remains of old structure that are otherwise long-gone. In this case, it's a boundary wall for the ornamental garden of Crosspark, a late Georgian mansion built in the 1830s, which once stood on this site.
