A way cut down the electricity bill is to use off peak electricity for the washing machine and dishwasher.
The investment, if the appliance does not have its own timer, is a time switch or smart socket. Leave the appliance loaded and ready to run.
EVs can also be left plugged in to the charger and the car set to use off peak hours.
