after a terminally terrible experience with #trainline website I was keen to find a better way to get from London to Birmingham and it turns out Chiltern Railways gets the thumbs up from this dude who did a seriously deep dive on the best rail provider between Birmingham and London. The 2024 prices are so low I almost fell off my seat.

Always look above the Price for a cheaper ticket option.
Trainline are pretty poor at showing you the actual cheapest price for the ticket.

It's not an insignificant price difference either!

Spent way too much time getting tickets from Zürich to Verona. Trainline could handle all the reduction we have in Switzerland, but crashed when I actually tried to buy the ticket. Trenitalia has no clue what a Swiss reduction is. In the end, the SBB web-site worked, and turned out to be the cheapest.

Trainline suck. They’ve changed their ticketing so that the Apple Wallet pass only has the start and end of the journey on it, and the date.

Previously they included the departure and arrival times, and seat reservation details.

A clumsy move to force people into using their app instead. Well sorry but it isn’t going to work. I’ve nothing but contempt for this behaviour.

@murena @gael depuis quelques jours l'horrible (mais malheureusement presque incontournable) application #sncf connect n'est plus disponible aux mises à jour ou à l'installation pour mon #Fairphone5. Malheureusement les alternatives comme #trainline n'offrent pas les mêmes fonctionnalités (en particulier pour la dématérialisation des cartes de réduction). Quel dommage!
