Tomorrow is a big day. Our Demand Reduction Group is going to extend expts done in UCL's chemistry building to tweak the operation of a subset of buildings to reduce #energy #waste.
The changes me made were so extreme, radical, and brave, that no one, aside from the three people looking at the metering data, actually noticed.
Yet they resulted in six-figure reductions in energy costs for a single building and revealed a wealth of malfunctions that have gradually been addressed. #notzero

I am thinking of going into the carbon credits business: Instead of me flying to Paris, which could happen if you refuse to pay, you can pay me $360 to not fly to Paris and thus avoid 3.6 tons of CO2 emissions. If you pay me $1700 I will not fly first class, and thus avoid 17.7 tons of CO2 emissions, which is a better deal for you.
