The idea that certain “low support #needs” #autistic people are “more logical,” “more honest,” “more evolved” than neurotypicals is not #liberation.

I don’t say this to defend #neurotypicals. Neurotypicals benefit from #neurosupremacy, and they generally act in that interest.

I care about autistic people who don’t fit the #supremacist logic: the nonspeaking, intellectually disabled, multiply disabled, BIPOC, #GlobalSouth, #trans, and poor autistics.

Anyone who uses the word #neurosupremacy to mean neurodivergent people who think their neurotype makes them better than others needs to read up on what supremacy entails. Supremacy is like racism - it's only possible when it's the dominant group enforcing its privileged status over other groups. A minority group cannot be supremecist, only a privileged majority can.

Neurosupremacy is like White Supremacy. Just as white supremacy has forced society to adapt to white folks' needs and desires by excluding everyone else, neurosupremacy creates a society that only works for neurotypicals and excludes neurodivergent folk. There's certainly some internalized anti-ND hate that gets ND folk to fight with each over status, but I see that more as a side-effect of neurosupremacy, just as white supremacy pits racial minorities against each other. Neurodivergent solidarity is what we need, not fighting amongst ourselves.

Proposing "neurosupremacy" as a term where people of a certain neurotype (neurodivergent or neurotypical) hold their neurotype to be better than others as a form of bigotry. (Assuming it is not already in use for that reason.)

We have some forms of this in the "asperger's/aspie supremacy" phrase but this broadens it to be usable for any neurotype, including neurotypical or allistic.

May be useful where "ableism" may not be an accurate fit.

Somehow a young white tech bro found our profile and requested to follow us. I vet every follower and so I was immediately sceptical when I saw a non-critical toot with a picture of Trump.

Obviously I straight up hit them with "what do you think about Trump and Musk?".

I kid you not, their answer was: "Why should I think about them?" I never blocked someone so fast, lol.
