Common #ivy #Hedera #helix (#Araliaceae) exhibits either a #creeping or #climbing #stem, named stem #dimorphism, as well as different leaf shapes (#heterophylly). The #species is #native to western, central, and southern #Europe, extending as far as Sweden and Turkey. Elsewhere it appears as #neophyte. Its evolutionary roots lie in Tertiary tropical forests.
