I have a challenge for you..

Thirty years ago, I ran a small business producing counted cross stitch embroidery kits. It was called "DevaStitch Designs", because we were based just outside Chester, but mostly what I did was small designs of local landmarks for the small local needlecraft shops that used to abound.

I did a kit of the Paddle Steamer Waverley for the needlecraft shop in Largs, and it sold very well. I sent the worked model, after photography, to the shop, and it never came home again (not surprising, we closed our businesses about the same time, and there was some chaos.

We were on the Waverley yesterday - my first time, as I made the design based on a postcard - and I just thought - it would be lovely to see it again.

So, do you, or anyone you know, happen to have on your wall a counted cross stitch of the Waverley Paddle Steamer from DevaStitch Designs?

This #WIPWednesday I have started a new embroidery project which happens to be my first ever “thread painting” project! I have been wanting to try thread painting for so long and having some spare cotton left from a sewing project, I decided it is time! The design is just a simple rose I drew by hand and my aim is to shade it as realistically as possible. I am very happy to be expanding my embroidery skills!

It is nice, sunny and warm where I live today and so it has been the perfect opportunity to wash my embroidery project carry bag and dry it outside. Now I get to have fun going through all my projects and organising them and I am probably more excited about that than I should be…

Failed to snap a picture of my cross stitch at the competition, but this much progress on my project almost feels as good as the 1st place result! On to the next competition - hopefully I will have a different cross stitch project in the works by the time the next one comes around. ☺️🧵

She made me the cauldron with a #valheim message on it "Mead is my Therapy" (I often put this message on my builds in the game) along with "Live, Laugh, Loki"

The second is a plush Lox - a half lizard half ox creature from the plains area of #Valheim

Finally the flower is a #SilentPrincess found in very select and sacred areas of The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild.
