hello everyone i’m Oda, a 23 years old trans femme from kyiv ukraine who ran from the war and became a refugee in the republic of ireland together with my nonbinary ukrainian 24 years old partner. we chose ireland because it is a geographically close english speaking country and as we already know the language pretty well this would mean significantly easier job hunting for me as we would not need to learn a new language and could become self sustainable much faster. to afford ourselves to make the move we took in sum 120,000 UAH of debt (which is almost 3000 euros depending on the exchange rate) and are currently in negative with our ukrainian credit cards blocked. when we arrived we got placed in a “designated accommodation center” which was a refugee camp in the middle of nowhere where we can’t find any job openings within walking distance and can not afford a car, a bike or even public transport. the conditions here are terrible: we live inside uninsulated shipping containers without running water, air conditioning or any furniture except a bulk bed. because the container has no insulation nor a dehumidifier, the walls are constantly running with water on the floor and cover everything with mold. because the floors and walls are always wet and we have no furniture, we gave up the first floor of our bulk bed to store our clothes and stuff on it so they are less likely to get moldy. this means we both have to sleep on a narrow second floor of a bulk bed. and even tho it means one of us risks falling down - the warm air from the only electric heater goes upwards so sleeping for both of us would be too cold. and yeah the toilet and the showers are outside which is not comfortable in the autumn or winter. at least we get fed three times a day but i’m a picky eater and can’t always eat what we are given. i’ve attached pictures demonstrating our living conditions. we arrived in the end of October - almost two months ago but due to being located in a rural area we are still struggling to find jobs and our legs get really tired from walking. we have until 20-th of January when our allowed stay at the refugee camp will end and we will be forced out and we are desperate to find jobs to allow ourselves rent or jobs with housing allowance or homeless shelters to move to. we reached out to NGOs who offer help in situations like ours like the Irish Red Cross or Crosscare but so far have no replies. all of this means that we rally need help, at least with the basic stuff: our monthly phone offers will expire soon which means we will have no data or calls to look for jobs and we really need to buy ourselves “Young adult Leap cards” so we could use Irish public transport at discounted prices. Our phone offers cost 20 euros each and to buy a “young adult leap card” you need 10 euros for each

This means right now we need at least 60 euros to continue job hunting and looking for shelter. that is the minimum that will allow us to stay productive and have any hope that we will find an opportunity to not become homeless

you can send your support to my paypal account - https://paypal.me/OdarkaVoronina

we also would be rally helpful for any additional funds over the minimal goal of 60 euros as any more money we would receive will go towards paying off our 3000 euros debt and unlocking our ukrainian bank accounts

thank you for your attention, boosts and help, it means a lot

thank you everyone for sharing my previous mutual aid request and thank you everyone who could afford a donation, it truly ment a lot and made our financial burdens a lot lighter. people who help by spreading the message or by even donating have returned my hope in the community and in humanity as a whole.

unfortunately this was not the end of the financial crisis for my chosen family: we all still have debt, we still have health problems, we still are disabled, marginalized and living in a war zone. plus one of us had a medical emergency in dental part which cost us a lot. and no matter how i hate myself for asking for help and begging, but we all here understand that we won't be able to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. so i have to make another request on behalf of my chosen family - please help us pay out our debt and to get us to my next paycheck.

i understand that you all already did a lot, you all helped in your own way and contributed to helping us. you are awesome critters, people and things and i am very thankful for your existence. but i, but we still are in dire need of help and we would greatly appreciate it, so please share this post or consider donating if you can

to add what is currently needed: my current debt is almost 175 euros and we would need something like 25 euros to get by until next week when i will get my salary, so collecting 200 euros would cover us for this month. thanks everyone again

We have video of Rümeysa Öztürk's abduction because of a local ICE watch hotline. #MutualAidIsLove

@foodwpb has been issued three citations for distributing food at their weekly food share along with independent journalist of WPB Government Watch.

Demand a STOP! By calling their hotline and leaving a voicemail message (561) 822-1390

“A disgrace to our First Amendment rights and a blatant act of cruelty” said one before vowing to fight the charges. @foodwpb has been sharing food for 16 years as direct action against war, imperialism, and capitalism.

The ordinance with which they’re being cited requires permits for events that feed 25+ people and only allows two permits per year per location. While Food Not Bombs universally stands against permits, this particular ordinance is designed to make compliance impossible and force the group to shut down.

However the community is fighting back! Students, community gardens, other Food Not Bombs chapters, journalists, socialists, and anarchists have rallied behind these food shares since the police began their campaign of harassment five months ago. Police will not be able to shut these food shares down.

Now all eyes look to the Courts. FTL famously lost a similar case in federal court to Food Not Bombs Ft. Lauderdale (https://www.commondreams.org/news/2022/01/05/after-7-years-anti-war-group-fed-hungry-wins-fight-fort-lauderdale) and now West Palm Beach stands to as well.

There are five Food Not Bombs chapters being criminalized for sharing food in the so-called United States @memphisfoodnotbombs and Food Not Bombs Las Vegas, Houston and Aberdeen. As always, mutual aid continues unabated.

Join @foodwpb food shares every Saturday at 4:30pm! Call WPB Government and demand a stop to these unconstitutional citations before a federal lawsuit costs the city!

After 7 Years, Anti-War Group That Fed the Hungry Wins Fight With Fort Lauderdale

"We outlived and outmaneuvered the old mayor, city manager, and city attorney, who were all intent on policing us and the homeless out of existence," said the local chapter of Food Not Bombs.

Noelani Ahia, a Kanaka Maoli activist, describes the community's reaction to the destruction of Indigenous cultural documents, art and artifacts. “In the blink of an eye, it was burned to the ground, and all of those things were lost,” says Ahia. She also describes mutual aid efforts now underway and notes, “The people on the ground know what the community needs.”

As Fires Destroy Native Hawaiian Archive in Maui, Mutual Aid Efforts Are Launched to Help Lahaina

In Lahaina, the area in west Maui that is of historical importance to Indigenous people, entire neighborhoods were wiped out by this week’s historic wildfires, including the Na 'Aikane o Maui Cultural Center, which had a massive archive that was lost to the flames. We are joined by Noelani Ahia, a Kanaka Maoli activist, who describes the community's reaction to the destruction of Indigenous cultural documents, art and artifacts. “In the blink of an eye, it was burned to the ground, and all of those things were lost,” says Ahia.
