hello everyone i’m Oda, a 23 years old trans femme from kyiv ukraine who ran from the war and became a refugee in the republic of ireland together with my nonbinary ukrainian 24 years old partner. we chose ireland because it is a geographically close english speaking country and as we already know the language pretty well this would mean significantly easier job hunting for me as we would not need to learn a new language and could become self sustainable much faster. to afford ourselves to make the move we took in sum 120,000 UAH of debt (which is almost 3000 euros depending on the exchange rate) and are currently in negative with our ukrainian credit cards blocked. when we arrived we got placed in a “designated accommodation center” which was a refugee camp in the middle of nowhere where we can’t find any job openings within walking distance and can not afford a car, a bike or even public transport. the conditions here are terrible: we live inside uninsulated shipping containers without running water, air conditioning or any furniture except a bulk bed. because the container has no insulation nor a dehumidifier, the walls are constantly running with water on the floor and cover everything with mold. because the floors and walls are always wet and we have no furniture, we gave up the first floor of our bulk bed to store our clothes and stuff on it so they are less likely to get moldy. this means we both have to sleep on a narrow second floor of a bulk bed. and even tho it means one of us risks falling down - the warm air from the only electric heater goes upwards so sleeping for both of us would be too cold. and yeah the toilet and the showers are outside which is not comfortable in the autumn or winter. at least we get fed three times a day but i’m a picky eater and can’t always eat what we are given. i’ve attached pictures demonstrating our living conditions. we arrived in the end of October - almost two months ago but due to being located in a rural area we are still struggling to find jobs and our legs get really tired from walking. we have until 20-th of January when our allowed stay at the refugee camp will end and we will be forced out and we are desperate to find jobs to allow ourselves rent or jobs with housing allowance or homeless shelters to move to. we reached out to NGOs who offer help in situations like ours like the Irish Red Cross or Crosscare but so far have no replies. all of this means that we rally need help, at least with the basic stuff: our monthly phone offers will expire soon which means we will have no data or calls to look for jobs and we really need to buy ourselves “Young adult Leap cards” so we could use Irish public transport at discounted prices. Our phone offers cost 20 euros each and to buy a “young adult leap card” you need 10 euros for each
This means right now we need at least 60 euros to continue job hunting and looking for shelter. that is the minimum that will allow us to stay productive and have any hope that we will find an opportunity to not become homeless
you can send your support to my paypal account - https://paypal.me/OdarkaVoronina
we also would be rally helpful for any additional funds over the minimal goal of 60 euros as any more money we would receive will go towards paying off our 3000 euros debt and unlocking our ukrainian bank accounts
thank you for your attention, boosts and help, it means a lot
