My partner @magicalgrrrl and I are trying to get a car, and it would help in so many ways. A sustainable income being one, and my little sisters being another important factor.

Of course, living in America as disabled folks (and trans folks, and repeated trauma survivors) is made a bit better with a working car. Accessible employment, delivery gigs, and picking up our groceries rather than needing them delivered or using Betty’s precious energy to walk and pick up a couple days’ worth of food… those are just some of the ways it would help. As well as transportation to medical appointments. I have a top surgery consultation in June and if we have to uber it will be expensive getting to that appointment and others.. I can’t imagine how it’ll be if I have to uber after getting surgery..

And as someone who has lived through many traumas since birth, being this far (a few states) away from my sisters is absolutely gut-wrenching. Missing birthdays, holidays, and even their joy from prom. Not being able to visit them. Not being able to watch them grow up. Or make sure they’re safe. I truly want and need to be able to see them regularly.

Plus, I would be beyond appreciative if we could raise the additional $1000 at least to get a used car, as soon as we can.. I’ve been in a really bad state for a few years now and just know if I cannot seriously rest soon I will collapse in more ways than I already have. If we have a car and Betty can bring in a regular income I feel it would save my life.
