I was sad to learn of the recent death of Chris Rust.

Chris was virtually synonymous with #FoodNotBombs in Melbourne/Naarm, a co-founder of the group & its mainstay for many years.

A quiet guy who loved music & serving food to the community.

'Freedom of Species' on 3CR dedicated its March 29 episode to a celebration of Chris's life & work & you can listen to it here:

In celebration of Chris Rust / Food Not Bombs

We celebrate the life and incredible contributions of Chris Rust and share tributes from Chris's loved ones, friends and comrades. For decades, through Food not Bombs, Chris embodied a quiet, unwavering commitment to solidarity, anarchist DIY ethics, and animal rights.Through FNB, Chris brought people together, created spaces of care and solidarity, and lived out his belief in mutual aid, community, and respect for all beings.

Remembering Who's Emma Part II

Church of St. Stephen-in-the-Fields, Wednesday, April 15 at 06:00 PM EDT

Next in our bi-weekly zine reading and discussion series, we'll be looking at an OPIRG-curated zine titled "Who's Emma: Selected Readings."

This zine is about the anarcho-punk collective and non-profit store called Who's Emma, which was active in Kensington Market from 1996-2000. We will read the zine together and discuss it as a group. We will also make space for physical and creative exercises that allow for insights to sink in and be felt as a group.

This event follows up on the previous intergenerational anarchist gathering on Feb 22, where we watched and discussed "Remember Who's Emma" together. You can (but don't need to) watch the 30-minute documentary at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llwZIU0vKGU.

Plant-based meal will be provided. Masks are mandatory when not eating and will also be provided. The space is wheelchair accessible with gender-neutral bathrooms and multiple air purifiers.

You can re-share this poster and invite as long it remains off of public social media.
